A Budding Author

My fiancé writes for his plant’s newsletter. Their publication is issued quarterly so he has ample time to prepare his article. But he needs to get his article prepared a week or two before the deadline so he won’t be cramming. Anything goes when it comes to his topic – but sometimes his editor gives him a choice of additional topics to discuss and allows him to choose which one he’ll write about other than his own personal article.

For this quarter, he was given a topic about promotional products and how it can be of great help to one’s company. Knowing my fiancé to be smart, I know the topic will be a piece of cake for him. I myself even know how helpful those products are when it comes to a establishment’s marketing strategies. But what’s more, he knows a lot more than me about such things. He has shared with me the articles he has done in the past and I can’t wait to read this one.

Missed It!

Chatting with my BA, that is. I was at the mall with my mom, my nieces and my son, Yogi the whole afternoon and as always, our time was simply not enough for shopping. LOL. Just kidding.

I wasn’t able to be home at 5:30 – our scheduled time for chatting since he needs to leave at 6 o’clock for work. But the good thing is, we’re both on mobile so we just exchanged a few sms and had each other well informed. He’d call me later tonight though as he always does every single day to wish me good night and I’m looking forward to that one, as always.

He’s Hooked On Books

A bookworm is what best describes my fiancé. He’s so into books and reading is what uses up much of his spare time. He actually reads himself to sleep each night; he can’t go to sleep without a book in his hand.

The photo below shows the collection of books he’s acquired over the years, and that’s not it all of ‘em. He has books scattered everywhere, like in the floor beside his bed, on top of the furniture, and basically all over the house because his book shelves are full.

And as you can see, the books are not even neatly arranged, and arranging them neatly is just one of the many goals that I have once I get to his place. And something else will change, too: once I get there and we get married, he won’t need a book to hold when he goes to sleep each night. (“,)

Better Late Than Never

More often than not, my fiancé and I normally talk between seven to eight my morning and evening, which is exactly vice versa to him since he’s half-a-world away from me. We have a twelve hour time difference and though we only have an hour to talk, we make the best of our time together and our conversations cover everything from A-to-Z. But today was different: he didn’t get home until his 7:30 in the evening because he worked overtime until 6:00 o’clock and was caught in traffic on his way home. He kept me well informed, though, as he always does; thank goodness for cell phones.

So while waiting for his arrival, I just keep on browsing the net like I usually do, and more often than not, I stumble upon new things. This time around, I was browsing for wedding giveaways but some custom point of purchase displays were among the many items my searches displayed. The concept itself was interesting for it is something I’d never thought of, yet it’s one of those common things that we see everyday. So I now have an additional word in my vocabulary and a new way of looking at things when I’m out shopping. That’s why I never get tired of browsing for I learn new things every day.

Congratulations to the Newlyweds!

After having to undergo pressure with the preparation and the documents needed that took them about a month, my friend and her fiance’ finally tied the knot on April 10th. We’re really happy for her especially my mom who was her godmother in her first marriage.

They had a very simple ceremony and reception and I can’t help myself smiling while looking at their wedding photos. A lot of her friends including me have been waiting to see their photos for we weren’t able to be in her wedding – simply because it’s impossible. She married her fiance’ from Michigan and how I wish we can all be there but simply can’t. But we are all happy for she’s happy as well as her fiance’. It definitely shows on those photos.

Congratulations to the newlyweds. Best Wishes!

My Boombox

I never knew it’s called a boombox until my fiance’ told me. I only knew it as a CD and casette player. I did hear about boomboxes before but I thought those are those musical gadgets that have big and wide speakers on it.

Anyway, he gave this as a gift to me on Easter of 2009 and what a nice surprise it was. He also shared some CDs that he recorded himself – a collection of his favorites.

Still inside the box.

And there it is… my boombox!

CD Collection

The love for music is one thing that my fiance’ and I have in common. This CD collection of his can attest to the fact how such a music lover he is. I do have my share of CD collection too, some of which are gifts from him.

These CDs here are a collection of music from different eras and genres. Music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s were compiled in different row though I don’t know particularly which is which. I think my fiance’ told me before and I’ve just forgotten. Another memory gap? Hehe.

And soon enough, there will be an addition to his collection for I will also shared with him my favorites like he shared his favorites with me.

It Takes A Licking…

…and it keeps on ticking – the slogan that Timex watch is known for.

Timex has been in the industry for centuries, thus, making it one of the best provider of watches worldwide. And so when I thought of giving my fiance a watch for his birthday, it was Timex that I thought of instantly. And here’s what I got him. Little did I know that his watch was Timex too. The watch that he used but messed up when he visited me last year. One of the reasons too why I got him a watch for his birthday so he’ll have a new watch that he can wear and won’t mess up the next time he visits me. Hehe.

That’s the watch. Very nice, isn’t it?
