Finally! It’s About Time!
I finally got hold of my employment authorization card the other day. I was supposed to have it way before, but they didn’t send it until our lawyer called them. They probably overlooked it. That really made us glad because I can now get my Social Security Number, then, of course, I can now have a job, hopefully.
I’ve already started looking and how I wish I am a CPA because there is a raleigh cpa job vacancy that pays really good. But I am a Bachelor’s Degree holder too so I am hoping and praying that I will be lucky with my job hunting soon. I am excited!
Four-Day Weekend
Yep, my husband will have one for their Christmas holiday this year. It will start on the 23rd, Friday until the 26th, Monday. And since we are all looking forward to a busy weekend because of family parties starting on the 24th, we will have our grocery shopping on the 23rd. I know the parking lot will be jam-packed by then, but that is the only time that we could do it. It will be worse on the weekend, I believe.
But even though the stores will be crowded, I do look forward to our grocery shopping because I will include chocolates that I am going to put on our dining table. I told my boys not to touch the chocolates until the New Year. LOL. But I doubt if that would be possible. (“,)
Nuptials in the Air…Maybe?
A good friend of my family is a photographer. He always posts wedding photos of his clients on Facebook which is one thing that I look forward to seeing. Looking at wedding photos is one thing that really interests me.
I’ve been here in the land of Uncle Sam for a year now and I haven‘t attended a wedding yet. My stepdaughter is still single. I hope she will get married soon so I will be able to witness one. Her boyfriend is from Raleigh and if ever, perhaps they will get the services of raleigh wedding videography. Whatever they decide on, I am hoping they are going to tie the knot in the near future. They’re not getting any younger after all. (“,)
All That Glitters Isn’t Gold
I was cleaning my son’s book shelves and I was delighted when I held his piggy bank and there were coins in it. I was curious to know how much he had saved, but I was surprised to see gold coins, only to discover they were actually tokens which were the husband’s. He worked at a miniature golf course and game room and those tokens were for the game machines that they had. He kept them all these years as remembrance and my son was delighted when my husband handed them to him one day.
I didn’t know he put them in his piggy bank. Well, I was happy that he kept the tokens. But I would be happier if those were really coins in there. Maybe I should give him tips on how to save, huh?
The Blinds are Now Up!
When we arrived here last year, the husband was so surprised to see the house fully renovated. His stepson finished what they’ve started when he left to fetch Yogi and I. The whole house was really clean and smelling good the first time we stepped inside. We are really grateful for what they did.
But one thing that surprised the husband was seeing that they had removed the window blinds in Yogi’s bedroom and changed it with panels. I’ve never seen those blinds so I thought that it probably looked worn out that was why they removed it. The husband preferred the blinds because it will make the room warmer compared to those curtains.
So, last week, since the cold days are here, he decided to put them up. And I was so surprised to see how still nice they are. He bought it two years ago, but they still look so new. And when he was done putting them up and put valances on top of it, I was so delighted with what I saw. They really look way way much better than the curtains.
Good job, Hubby! Yogi’s loving his room the more now too.
